CHP Regulations and Guidance
The White Paper, Partnership for Care and Delivering for Health, set out the context for partnership working in Scotland and for the Development of Community Health Partnerships. Building better health and social care services around the strengths and needs of Scottish communities underpins recent reforms included in the NHS Reform (Scotland) Act 2004 and provides the impetus for the development of CHPs.
The Statutory Guidance for CHPs was published in October 2004. The CHP Regulations form the legislative base within which the guidance is based and came into effect on 1st October 2004. Attached are copies of the Regulations (SSI 2004 No 386), the Statutory Guidance and the letter from the SEHD to Health Boards and Local Authorities regarding the set up of CHPs.
