OS Announces Scottish Optometric Conference (SOC) 2007
Optometry Scotland has announced that it will organise and host a Scottish Optometric Conference in conjunction with the Scottish Committee of Optometrists (SCO) which will be held in the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on Sunday 2nd December 2007. The programme for the day is still being considered, but is likely to include both political and clinical matters as they affect the profession in Scotland, with some of the agenda items appropriate for CET. An evening reception and dinner is also being planned, and it is hoped that a senior member of the Scottish Executive will make a keynote address during the Conference.
OS Chairman Frank Munro said: "We have been considering holding another Scottish Optometric Conference for some time and I'm glad to be able to say that our plans are now firming up for what promises to be a thoroughly interesting and professionally stimulating event for everyone involved with the profession. We are still in the process of confirming the programme and speakers, but when details are available we will publish them via the media, by writing direct to OS membership, and by placing them on our website. We're putting together a first class conference and I expect demand for places to be high."
Delegates planning to attend the Conference from outwith the Central Belt may wish to book overnight accommodation at the Hilton. Reservations can be contacted on 0141 204 5530.
Delegates wishing to stay overnight on Sunday 2nd December are eligible for a special reduced rate and should quote Reference PR22 FQ.
