Cataract Surgery draft standards consultation 

Cataract surgery is the most successful operation delivered in NHS Scotland. It has a high success rate in improving visual function and low rates of morbidity and mortality. 

Health Improvement Scotland are developing new standards for cataract surgery. They will cover surgery of all complexity. The standards are for all NHS and independent healthcare settings. 

These standards will draw on current evidence, best practice and stakeholder recommendations.  

They have developed a set of draft standards for consultation.
