Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 update

Based on stakeholders' feedback, Disclosure Scotland are working towards implementing Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 by 1 April 2023.

The additional time to implement these changes will mean that:

  • stakeholders and customers have more time to prepare for the changes required to move to the new disclosure regime
  • they will deliver their new services at a standard that maintains for the changes required to move to the new disclosure regime.

During this time, they ask that you deliver on your legal responsibilities which include:

  • Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme members need to tell us if their personal details have changed
  • organisations must notify Disclosure Scotland when a PVG scheme member stops doing regulated work with them

For a list of PVG members registered with your organisation, please email dsupdate@disclosurescotland.gov.scot, providing your countersignatory and registered body codes.

You can see the upcoming changes on their website and by keeping up to date with Disclosure Scotland on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin, and signing up to their quarterly e-bulletin.
