Optometry Scotland has submitted a response to the call for evidence on the Opticians Act and consultation on association policies.

Julie Mosgrove, Chair of OS said ‘We would like to thank all members and stakeholders who provided feedback and supported a review of evidence.  This consultation offered OS an opportunity to illustrate that the Opticians Act has allowed the profession to develop and build a care network with shared investment between the Scottish Government and the optical professions.  As a result, OS believe there is no evidence to suggest any change is required to the Opticians Act as it stands at present’.

The OS response acknowledges that the Opticians Act is a successful piece of legislation and remains in the best interest of public protection.
