Sight Loss Councils to launch in Scotland

Sight Loss Councils (SLCs) are groups led by blind and partially sighted volunteers using their lived experience to tackle local and national issues to progress accessibility, inclusivity and equality across Scotland empowering those with sight loss to live life to the fullest.

Sight Scotland, Sight Scotland Veterans and Visibility Scotland are working in partnership to bring SLCs to Scotland, using their skills, knowledge, and reach to create strong and connected SLCs across Scotland.  They are currently in the process of recruiting volunteers across the Central Belt to establish Scotland’s first SLC with the plan to create city specific councils with extension to Dumfries and Galloway by 2025.
