Updated Ventilation Enhancement Grant FAQ

Following receipt of queries in respect of (i) inconsistencies in the descriptions and terminologies used by some manufacturers for ventilation enhancement equipment, and (ii) air purifiers being stated to be ineligible for the ventilation enhancement grant, the Scottsh Government have discussed the matter further with Health Facilities Scotland, who provided the initial technical advice that air purifiers should not be permitted.

Following this discussion, they have agreed that the best way forward is for the practice owner/claimant to obtain written assurance from the manufacturer/supplier that the equipment, whether described as an air cleaner, air scrubber or air purifier, meets the eligibility requirement of a minimum ventilation rate of 6 air changes per hour.

As before, it is the responsibility of the practice owner/claimant to ensure that the equipment being claimed for meets the eligibility criteria.

You can see updated the FAQ attached and on the Eyes.Scot website, to reflect the above.
