Optometry Scotland (OS) has appointed Eilidh Thomson as a new vice chair, along with four representatives to serve as voices for independent opticians across Scotland.
Eilidh Thomson is an optometrist for Black and Lizars Opticians, and former representative since 2019.
OS chair, Julie Mosgrove, welcomed Eilidh and commented: ‘She has been an active member of OS’s council for several years and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. She is a fantastic asset and I am excited to drive our organisation forward with her support.’
The four independent representatives elected were Arthur McHugh of Hughes and McHugh Optometrists, Colette Dunsmore of Localeyes in Larkhall, who will be returning for second term; Ian Jarvis of Jarvis Optometrist in Dundee; and Richard Spruce, part-owner of McFarlane and Nicol’s.
