It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of our colleague, Peter Beaton.
Peter was a dedicated ophthalmic partner for over 30 years, who began his Specsavers career in Aberdeen in August 1989 and subsequently established the Rutherglen store in April 1996.
His tenure as a partner was nothing short of inspirational. He was highly regarded and respected by his peers and throughout his career, Peter generously shared his knowledge and expertise, supporting and mentoring numerous students along their own paths in the world of optometry. His guidance and encouragement has shaped the lives of many aspiring clinicians.
Rutherglen stands as a testament to his passionate commitment to customer service, which has beendemonstrated over the years by his determination to foster a customer-focussed culture. Peter’s leadership and attention to detail meant that each person who walked through the doors of Rutherglen received not only exceptional eye care but also heartfelt compassion and care.
Outside of his professional achievements, Peter was a loving family man who held his wife, Anne, and his entire family close to his heart. His presence brought warmth and joy to their lives, and his love and support knew no bounds.
On Thursday 8 June, Peter passed away peacefully. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to Anne and his entire family during this difficult time.
As we mourn the loss of a remarkable individual, let us also celebrate a life well-lived and be grateful we had the chance to know him.
Rest in peace, Peter.
